On Ferry, you're the seller. Buyers pay straight into your bank account, so you also issue the invoices and declare the taxes. Ferry doesn't do that for you, but it gives you clean numbers so you can do it quickly and correctly.
Who does what
Responsibilities are clear from day one:
- You're the seller – The sale is between you and the buyer, and the money goes straight into your bank account.
- You issue invoices and declare taxes – Using the e-invoicing software and filing channel you already use.
- Ferry provides the numbers – Revenue reports, order lists and CSV files ready for your accountant.
- Transparent Ferry fee – Each month Ferry sends an invoice for the 5% fee on successful orders, which you can record as a business expense.
While your revenue is small, filing is usually simple. As it grows, talk to an accountant or your local tax office.
Whether you sell as an individual or a household business, Ferry's reports work the same way. See our documentation for more guidance.
Revenue reports that add up
Correct filing starts with correct numbers. On Ferry, an order is only confirmed once the money is in your account and matched via SePay, so the revenue in your reports always matches your bank statement.
Your reports include:
- revenue by day, month, quarter and year
- order count, refunds and net revenue per product
- the 5% Ferry fee paid each month, so you can record it as an expense
Export everything as CSV anytime to send to your accountant or import into your invoicing software.
Year-round revenue tracking
Tax obligations for individuals and household businesses depend on total yearly revenue, and the rules can change. So you need to know your exact numbers at any time.
Adding things up from bank statements is error-prone and stressful. On Ferry, you can:
- See year-to-date revenue right on your dashboard
- Filter by any date range to match your filing period
That way you know early when you need to register or file, instead of adding it all up at year end.
Here's a real-world example:
It's December and you sell online courses. You're planning a new launch, and the year-to-date revenue on Ferry shows it will push your yearly total past what you've declared so far.
With the numbers ready, you can:
- Prepare your registration and filing before the launch.
- Send the report to your accountant for advice on how to file.
Either way, you stay in control, avoid tax surprises and make launch decisions proactively.
Clear prices at checkout
Buyers don't like surprises. On Ferry, the price you set is exactly what the buyer transfers via VietQR, with nothing added. If you charge VAT, set your price with VAT included.
Here's an example:
You price an ebook at 90.000đ:
- The buyer scans the VietQR code and transfers exactly 90.000đ to your account.
- At month end, you pay Ferry a 4.500đ fee (5%) for this order.
The order shows up in your revenue report as soon as the money reaches your account.
The key point: the amount buyers see is the amount they pay. That transparency lifts conversions and reduces cart abandonment.
Invoicing your buyers
As the seller, you issue invoices to your buyers with the e-invoicing software you already use. Ferry makes sure you have the data:
- Buyer and order details, plus answers to any questions you add at checkout.
- CSV exports per period to import into invoicing software or send to your accountant.
- Add checkout questions (such as company name or tax ID) if you need them for invoicing.
- Refunded orders are flagged so you can adjust invoices.
No more combing through bank statements. Every order is already there and matched to the money in your account.
Why you're the seller
Some platforms sell on your behalf, hold the money and pay you later. It sounds convenient, but you lose control of your money, customers and brand. Ferry takes a different approach.
When you're the seller on Ferry:
- Money goes straight to you – Buyers scan VietQR and the money lands in your bank account immediately.
- Your name on the invoice – Buyers buy from you and remember your brand.
- You own your customer data – Export your buyer list anytime, with no lock-in.
- No waiting for your money – Ferry never holds funds, so nothing gets delayed or frozen.

In return, you issue your own invoices and declare your own taxes. Ferry makes that easy with revenue reports, order data and ready-made exports.
Your only cost is 5% per successful order, and your data is always yours. If you ever decide to move on, we'll be sad to see you go, but we won't stop you from taking your customers to another tool.
